Basketball Tap Off

My first tap off tournament was this weekend. We warmed up with layups and rebounding. Then the game started. We played well and worked hard. When the game was over we had won. The score was 16-15. (Shhh! We don't keep score)

After the game we went to the best pizza place in town...Denino's! Nearly half of my team was there too. We had calamari, cheesy bread, and pizza. What a good night!

After I came home and showered, I went to Church. The priest that said Mass was Father Joe.

Then I went home and went to bed. I thought about my busy day.

Today I woke up and had another basketball game. We played St. Charles. When I was dribbling up the ball, one of the girls on St. Charles stole the ball from me, and I stole it back. (Good hustle play!) The game ended and we shook hands.

Now it is night and I'm looking forward to next weekend, when we have another game.

Lots of Fun Facts

While I was at soccer practice, a brown tawny owl dropped off a wand. My mom showed me a peck on her hand from the owl. She told me about it the second I walked in the door. I was hoping it was a snowy owl. I have tried a couple of spells with my new wand. They do not work! The wand has vines on it just like Hermione's. I like to hold it with my left hand.

We had our first basketball practice of the season this past Sunday. This year we are in the Biddy A - that's big time on Staten Island. Speaking of big time, I took my aunt's basketball number in honor of my Awesome Aunt Lizzy. I will be rocking #4 all year. I made the first shot I took at practice. I was AWESOME!

Also pretty awesome, we won our first soccer game of the season on Saturday. We kicked our opponents booty around the field. We shut-out the other team! The score was 2-0. Aunt Liz was so ecstatic, as was I!

This weekend mom, Aunt Lizzy and I are heading to North Carolina for Columbus Day Weekend. We will be visiting Aunt Jilly, Mike, Tommy and the new baby, Drew. Jack and Ryan will be there too, along with Steph and Doug. We are heading via a flight out of Philly...we will hitting the road early on Saturday. I hope I am not too cranky!

Now I will talk about Christopher Columbus. We are learning about him in school. I wrote notes about him and studied hard. We took a test today and I think I got a 100%.

My First Week of School with Miss Cambria

My first week of school is done. I'm looking forward to another one. I am in second grade. My teacher is Mrs. Treacy. My best friend's teacher is Ms. Revello. We have homework on the weekends, but we don't have much.

Let me tell you about my first day of school...
On my first day of school, I went on my old line. My teacher from last year, Mrs. Simeone, lead us up the stairs, one last time. After prayers Mrs. Simeone called the kids in Ms. Revello's class. I was devastated that my best friend wasn't in my class. I was in Mrs. Treacy's class.

Mrs. Treacy just had a baby. She had a girl! In the meantime we have a substitute. Her name is Miss Cambria. When Miss Cambria brought us to our new class, the first thing we did was hang up our schoolbags. (My schoolbag is navy blue with pink polka dots.) Then Miss Cambria said to take out your pink dot notebook. We copied our homework. I copied every single thing. It was not a lot.

In the middle of the day. I noticed that the room was small, and their was NO air conditioning.

Soon it was time for lunch. I have a blue lunchbox, and it has stripes. I looked in my lunch box before I got down to the cafeteria. I saw that Nana wrote me an "I Love You" note.

The next day Mommy wrote me a note in my lunch box. I wrote back.

Mommy covered all my books on Thursday.

Now it is the weekend and you have heard my first week school story.

Summer

My first day of tennis lessons was today. My Mom got me up, got me dressed, brushed my hair, got me breakfast, and made sure I brushed my teeth. I did not want to wake up. It was so nice to sleep. Don't you think so?

My Mom drove me to tennis. My instructors taught me how to volley. I am going to practice vollies a lot. They also taught me what the lines on the court are called. I had so much fun.

I came home and went swimming, took a nap, and got a pedicure.

I went to Dinino's for dinner with Mommy and Daddy. After dinner we got Ralph's ices. Daddy got a pineapple, Mommy got vanilla chip, and I got lemon.

Now I am going to bed. Good Night!

Happy Birthday America!

I got up at 6:00 in the morning. I went to Church. It was so short. Nana said it was because there was no music. We went home and ate breakfast. We had omelets and sausages. Mom woke up.

This week I went to Hershey Park with Mommy and Aunt Lizzy. We stayed at Hotel Hershey. It was so fancy. There was a make your own cupcake shop. I made a vanilla cupcake with butter-cream icing and chocolate and peanut butter chips. At the amusement park we went on a lot of rides. One of my favorites was the Super-Dooper-Looper roller coaster. It went upside down. I kept my eyes open the whole time.

This afternoon I went swimming. The pool was cold. Later in the afternoon, Dad came over. We played UNO. I finally won the last game.

Right now I am watching the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks and a Capital Fourth of July on TV. Soon I am going to watch the fireworks!

What Time Is It...Summertime...

Mom made me a countdown chart to summer vacation.  Finally the last day of school came.  It was a half day.  (I love Wednesdays because they are half days.)  I got a A+ in penmanship.  I looked at my report card and I read the nice notes.  I got better in Math, and I got promoted to the Second Grade!  I wonder what second grade will be like?  I'll have to wait and see.

On Saturday I got my ears pierced.

My earrings are fake diamonds (shhh).  My ears were a little red, but it was fine.  My BFF got her ears pierced too.  We talked about it on Skype.

I had so much fun today.  Now it is time to say goodnight.

My Weekend

Getting ready for the wedding has been very rough. You have to do so many things, and worry about so many different things.

Today was as pleasant as can be. I woke up. I had a wonderful dream last night. We ate breakfast, and we had a soccer game. (Last night we had to go to Church because we had an early soccer game.)

Mom drove me and my Dad in the car to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch. We looked for soap at Bath and Body Works. We came home, sat down on the couch, and watched Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Then my Dad had to go.

Later Grandpa was cooking dinner on the grill. While he was cooking he was also playing ball with me. We had shish kabobs. Nana made strawberry cake for dessert. It was so good.

I brushed my teeth and took a shower. Now I am clean. It was a super fun day! Good Night!
